Overview
It heavily depends on the project you are working on and your manager. My responsobilities were admin-tasks, resource management, overseeing commercials (invoicing clients, budget management and financial tracking), working with clients, occasionaly supporting bids and organise events.
Skills
I enhanced my soft skills, time management, project management and a little bit of technical skills (Excel)
Responsibilities
I was given quite a lot of responsobility for an intern, for example I hosted client meetings where I had to secure deals that would bring six figures to the company or in cases when the management requests me to answer bid questions that determine whether we win new projects or not that worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Support & Guidance
There is always support if you are looking for it. You have two managers, mentors and team members that are always ready to guide you during your placement.
Culture
That's one of the biggest perks of working in IBM which is their humane culture. IBM has very friendly, welcoming and empathetic culture. You feel here like a human, rather than a cog in a corporate machine.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it throughly, however the placement is not completely structured, therefore you need to seek out for the exciting opportunities by yourself in order to to be stuck with boring daily activities.
Yes
Network and seek for exciting opportunities straight away so your placement wouldn't be consisting of boring admin responsobilities.
