  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Coming up with ideas and briefing suppliers. Benchmarking the market and market reviews. Product submissions QAS and trial reviews Showcasing our products to NISA and FRTS along with internal colleagues Visiting manufacturer's sites Going to innovation days, expos, and trawls Design and photography meetings and checking artwork Working with people around the business and suppliers.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I am responsible for the prepped produce category which is a leading quality category for the Co-op. I have been assisting on party food and savoury snacking helping with submissions, admin work and communicating with suppliers.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Constant support from anyone i ask. Everyone is always happy to help. In constant contact with my manager who encourages me to try new things and meet with people in new areas of the business, giving me good advice and who i should talk to.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The friendliest place i''ve ever worked. If you ever want to work on a project in a different category to the one you've been given or experience a different role in the business everyone is more than welcoming and invites you to spend time working with them.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I have absolutely loved my placement, the time has flown by and I'm so sad to be leaving. I have made meaningful connections and friendships across the business and will miss everyone and the job so much. Will hopefully be back some day!
