Overview
I have a wide range of tasks in my role which keeps it interesting. This includes answering email queries, working on different projects, analysing data, and aiming to continuously improve the workplace culture.
Skills
I have learnt and developed many skills such as time management, prioritisation, communication. My confidence in my abilities has also hugely improved! I have also learnt many role specific skills around HR.
Responsibilities
Yes, I managed some of my own projects and organised events, and was resposible for various things. The HR team gradually built up my knowledge throughout the year increasing my responsibilities.
Support & Guidance
As much as necessary. I had weekly one to ones with my manager, and the rest of the team were very friendly and open, meaning I felt I could reach out to anyone at any time if I felt I needed support.
Culture
Great! There was always opportunities to mingle and interact with people from different departments at events. Many events are held throughout the year on various important topics, and there was also after work social events. There is also a culture of care and trying to reduce stigma on many topics. Hilton is currently the #1 Worlds Best Workplace.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my time with Hilton. I felt that I grew so much both personally and professionally, my team were so lovely and supportive. I got so much out of this placement and was given every opportunity to step forward and develop. They invest a lot into placement students as it is a big programme at Hilton!
