Overview
I work alongside two other members of my team as we aim to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual objectives. My role is primarily a support role to my two other members to ensure we hit deadlines. The role is closer to a business analyst then a finance intern.
Skills
New skills developed is power BI. I have built a detailed dashboard using power BI. I have refined my excel skills substantially. I do a lot of work with excel so my skills have naturally improved significantly over the course of the year. I have also improved my PowerPoint skills.
Responsibilities
Not really. I had no responsibilities. My role was a support role.
Support & Guidance
Support was very good. My manager was excellent always there when I needed help and very understanding when I had an issue. The same could be said about my other manager.
Culture
Company culture was ok. The bar and work football were highlights of the placement. An emphasis is placed upon conviviality yet this wasn't truly experienced.
Your Impressions
I didnt enjoy the internship. I enjoyed what the internship enabled me to do. The internmship enabled me to partke in work football and meet other interns which I really ejoyed and were all highlights. The internship led to me participating in cool events such as the Christmas party, a charity football tournament and a trip to Glasgow. On a personal level the structure it provided alongside the opportunity to move back to London and make up the degree is truly appreciated. The actual internship, was a stuggle. Too often I found myself spending days in the office with minimal interactions. The work never truly challenged or engaged me with the lack of responsibilities preventing a consistent work schedule.
No
Be yourself, that is what people appreciate and if you lie people will very quickly find out. Understand the company and its products a lot was asked in regards to the company and I was probably underprepared.
