    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • 50% of my time is working on content - Amazon and grocery.com. This involves making it, uploading it, monitoring, tracking and reporting back, to continually optimise. It also involves seasonal/holiday content. This content is across brandstores, PDPs, A+ content and more. 50% of my time is on retail media - Amazon and Ocado. This involves tracking live media, collating and submitting media, creating and amending sponsored product adds, sponsored brand ads, and more.

  • I have developed a range of new skills and improved existing ones. Hard skills: Retail Media, Amazon Platforms, Brandbank, Photoshop, Social media tools, eg: Later, Data analytics Soft skills: Cross-functional communication, Creativity, Teamwork, Time management, Organisation, Event planning, Critical thinking

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility, and owned varying projects over the year, from seasonal content, creating brandstores for brands, managing search and retail media content, and more.

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I received a good level of guidance over the placement. I was able to ask questions about things that I didn't know about, and people are always open to talk to you about their roles, which means that it was easy to learn about different areas of the business.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture is good - conviviality is encouraged, and this actually comes through in the way that people interact and the opportunities to speak to others. The office atmosphere is friendly, and it is a nice place to work.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement experience at Pernod Ricard - I was able to get a range of experiences and develop varying skills, but working with so many different teams, in marketing and also commercial. It was great to be trusted to own certain projects, and also good to see the tangible results of my work, to make it feel more meaningful.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Pernod Ricard
  • Definitely go for it - it is a great company to spend a year at, with lots of opportunities to learn how a global FMCG company operates. Make sure you keep an open mind, and also speak up about what exposure you want - you will be able to get involved in projects where you want to develop yours skills, just ask!
