    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Creating stories for internal Intranet, responding to requests and queries from employees, working on projects such as the Trade advertising schedule, and social media calendar. Leading the agenda for team meetings. Communicating with external stakeholders for our trade advertising schedule. Planning and hosting events and preparing for external guests in the office.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have learnt more about being bold and agile, and consumer centric. Key skills for cross-team communication, and learning how to work with others. Organisation has been essential for the role. I have developed skills in using Microsoft office Excel and Sharepoint, and how to communicate in a corporate environment.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes. For the most part, I have felt my work has contributed to the team's successes and overall strategy. I have been given responsibility for large-budget projects, and with the support of my manager have conducted these successfully.

  • Please rate how meaningful the work you were doing was

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I received excellent support and guidance from my Line Manager. I do believe I could've had more support in other areas of the team, and across the business, but my Line Manager's support helped me to develop my skills and abilities throughout the placement.

  • How would you rate the support and guidance from your line manager?
  • 5/5

  • How would you rate the support and guidance from the wider team?

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Broadly, the company culture has been excellent. It feels very 'convivial' and is an enjoyable place to work. The highlight of the culture has been the intern programme - having a number of other young interns is a huge bonus. However, I would say Pernod Ricard has a hierarchy structure which prevents certain individuals from learning to their full potential. I have at times felt pushed away from company leaders, as opposed to being invited to learn and grow underneath them.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed my whole year. There is very little of my time I have not enjoyed. I've broadly been made to feel welcome, and feel like I've found my place at Pernod Ricard as time has gone on.
