    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My role has revolved around reducing the storage costs we are charged for storing point-of-sale stock in our warehouse. Point-of-sale is effectively branded merchandise. This meant working with the marketing department to discuss the POS we had stored in our warehouse, whether this stock was likely to be used again, and finding appropriate, sustainable solutions for the stock. This could be using the stock at an event, recycling the stock, or repurposing it.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have developed my skills in Excel as I have been using it every day. I have also developed skills across the whole Microsoft Office suite. Furthermore, I have developed soft skills that are essential for business such as communication and team work, whether internally by speaking to colleagues or when talking to suppliers.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Company culture focusses around conviviality which is a great asset to the company. Colleagues are extremely friendly, and always happy to help. I'd say the company culture is Pernod Ricard's best feature. There is a convivial bar in the office every Thursday for colleagues to enjoy, plus many events that are on offer to attend.
