    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have learnt and immensely developed many key and important skills during my year on placement. My excel skills have improved most significantly, and this has been through constant repetition and practise whilst carrying out day-to-day tasks. Also, my interpersonal skills have also been improved because of being in a fast paced environment.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • The responsibility I have been given during this placement has been incredible and is something I'm really proud to have had over the last 12 months. The trust that was put in myself from the first day onwards has really helped me thrive during this placement year, which has in return developed many crucial skills. For example, I have had the responsibility to submit very important monthly financial reports into the headquarters in France.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I have been given a really good amount of support and guidance during this placement. Fortunately, I have been working in such a good team which includes members who would drop whatever they were doing to help me. Moreover, what has been even better is the balance between independence and support. It has also been key that I've been left with certain challenges to conquer myself.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The culture at the company is something that everyone thrives off and is at the forefront of the business. You learn the word 'conviviality' and what it means to the people even before you arrive and throughout my time I've understood how important the culture is. On a personal level, my team has been incredible to me and I also feel very lucky with the intern cohort I was in as we developed strong relationships very quicky.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I have loved every minute and couldn't recommend the placement more. The year gives you real experience and has motivated me to go back to University and thrive in the final year so I can be in a similar role when graduating. I needed a year of stepping outside my comfort zone to see if I really wanted to go into finance after my placement and I now have a really good idea of what I want to do in the future.

  • 7. Would you recommend Pernod Ricard to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Pernod Ricard
  • To fully immerse yourself into the culture and socials. Due to personal circumstances of living at home during the placement I have found this hard to balance, and that is the one regret I have. Furthermore, jump at every challenge given to you and not being scared to make mistakes when doing so!
