Overview
I work on an internal Evidence Library, which hosts a range of internal and external evidence that covers topics spanning the criminal justice system, through hosting early adopter pilots and uploading evidence. I also work with the NRC, assessing research that people want to do in prisons and probation. I am also involved in fieldwork, spanning many research areas.
Skills
I have developed my qualitative skills, my research skills (e.g., interview skills), time-management, problem-solving and analysing skills.
Responsibilities
I was in charge of note-taking in all meetings. I was also in charge of producing an evidence pack asked for by our directorates directors, which focused on a specific research area, which I had to turn around very quickly.
Support & Guidance
My line manager and my direct team was very helpful. Everyone I have met have been so personable and friendly. I have felt that I can go to anyone for support and guidance and they would give it to me.
Culture
The company culture and general atmosphere is very flexible and helpful - everyone wants to help you and make sure that you get the most out of your job.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed myself to the fullest during my placement. It was such a unique and interesting placement to go on and I would recommend to anyone.
Yes
Go into it with an open mind - the job is never the same day-to-day, which makes it very interesting and different!
