Overview
Checking the missing timecard data, followed by downloading the current timecard data and formatting it to share with business directors to portray how our business area is doing. Along with this, chasing any people with missing timecards and those that need to move time onto projects.
Skills
I have thoroughly developed my skills within Excel, which were quite limited when i started. I have also gained a significant amount of confidence when it comes to reaching out to people to get things done.
Responsibilities
Yes. I would continually be given new tasks to take ownership of, and while these were still ran past others for approval/ review, the tasks were solely mine to look after and ensure are completed as efficiently as possible. However, I felt very comfortable in asking for help at all points throughout.
Support & Guidance
I had an extreme amount of support from day one, all the way through. When i started, I was assigned a "buddy" within my team, and they would be the person i would mostly go to with any questions as my line manager worked within a different section of our team. However, I still had weekly catch ups with my line manager throughout to see how i was and if there was anything they could help with.
Culture
I really like the culture of this company, they are quite relaxed and helpful to you as a person. I never felt bad for needing to pop out for doctors appointments as they made me feel comfortable enough to do so. In previous jobs i have had to use leave to go to appointments, but that is not how it is at Arcadis. They really care and want you to look after yourself.
Your Impressions
I did really enjoy it, although by the end i am feeling a little burnt out. It has been a great experience for me and i have thoroughly enjoyed the company of my colleagues and the culture that is provided.
Yes
Look into excel before you start, it is the main application used throughout and will help you adjust to the role massively if you have a good foundation
