Overview
My core role is a Global Marketing & Communications consultant for the iX Global Team. My responsibilities involve leading on the strategy and delivery of IBM iX Global Communications - covering Jennifer Quinlan’s (Global IBM iX – CT Lead) bi-weekly iXccelerate newsletter sent to 15,000+ people, Slack Posts, w3 page, Content+ & Ad Hoc Comms – driving IBM’s and iX’s culture globally.
Skills
I have learnt so many various different skills and got certificates/digital credentials for them thanks to IBM's positive learning culture. Some skills I developed are Gen AI skills, time management, presenting and public skills as well as my confidence overall!
Responsibilities
IBM is a an amazing company for young professionals! You get given responsibilities and trust from senior members, which is very important for young professionals who have just started their career journey.
Support & Guidance
Interns were supported during the whole placement from various places within the business.
Culture
It was a very welcoming and friendly environment to work in.
Your Impressions
My placement had its ups and downs, which I think is completely normal for such experience where you find your interests and motivation. Once I found my area of interest I thoroughly enjoyed my placement.
Yes
One valuable lesson I've learned during my placement is the importance of self-belief. It's easy to doubt our abilities, but I've realised that we're often capable of more than we think. So, my advice is to trust in your skills, be bold, and don't be afraid to speak up. Remember, you've been chosen to be part of the IBM team for a reason – own it and make the most of this amazing opportunity!
