Overview
On a day-to-day I manage sales reports for my key stakeholders on Microsoft PowerBi, a piece of software which is useful for business reporting and analysis. This involves the continual maintenance and development of reports to may them as useful and detailed as possible. Using the reports, I often provide adhoc analysis, and consolidate analysis into Performance Reviews.
Skills
At Centrica, I was encouraged to create a Personal Development Plan (PDP) which has helped structure the development of my skills. I think, in particular, that I have developed my presentation and analysis skills. I have also been able to develop my networking skills through being present and engaged in the office as well as attending networking events organised by the Emerging Talent team at Centrica.
Responsibilities
From the onset of my internship, I as given a lot of responsibility. As soon as the previous intern left, it was my responsibility to monitor the performance of the sales teams. Although this was a steep learning curve, it provided me with many opportunities to develop my skills. I believe this approach of learning on the job has benefited my development massively.
Support & Guidance
The Centrica year in industry scheme offers multiple different ways to get support. I have been able to get guidance not only from those in my team and my line manager, but each intern is also provided with a mentor as well as the opportunity to have a 'buddy' who is a current graduate. Additionally, we are able to seek guidance from those in the Emerging Talent team, who are always available to help.
Culture
There is a very good community spirit in Centrica, and I have enjoyed immersing myself in all the different aspects of it, whether this is with my wider team, or those that are in Emerging Talent, such as other interns, grads, summer interns, and apprentices,

Yes
It is very important for any application to research the company and its values, and this certainly applies to Centrica. I believe that my prior research of the company went a long way in the application process.
