Overview
My placement involved assisting the Technical Sales team and the Enablement team. This would include a number of key tasks including organising events, meetings, preparing senior leaders for client meetings.
Skills
I have learnt a number of key technical skills and interpersonal skills. I have built further confidence, and developed key skills in project and event management. I was also given the chance to learn more about technology including AI, Quantum and Security.
Responsibilities
Yeah supporting a key senior leader came with lots of responsibilities in several areas. Each day was always different which was brilliant because I had the chance to work on various different projects throughout my internship.
Support & Guidance
I had a lot of support from my Task Manager and my Foundation Manager. If I ever had any worries or queries throughout he placement, they were always there to lean on.
Culture
IBM is a happy place to work for people of all backgrounds. It is a place you can be proud to work.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my placement however it was advertised as a technology internship, being from a technical background I expected a much more technical role.
Yes
Always look at the bigger picture, you don't have to just work on projects in your teams. Feel free to branch out and experience different areas of IBM.
