  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My placement involved assisting the Technical Sales team and the Enablement team. This would include a number of key tasks including organising events, meetings, preparing senior leaders for client meetings.

  • I have learnt a number of key technical skills and interpersonal skills. I have built further confidence, and developed key skills in project and event management. I was also given the chance to learn more about technology including AI, Quantum and Security.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yeah supporting a key senior leader came with lots of responsibilities in several areas. Each day was always different which was brilliant because I had the chance to work on various different projects throughout my internship.

  • I had a lot of support from my Task Manager and my Foundation Manager. If I ever had any worries or queries throughout he placement, they were always there to lean on.

  • I enjoyed my placement however it was advertised as a technology internship, being from a technical background I expected a much more technical role.

  • Always look at the bigger picture, you don't have to just work on projects in your teams. Feel free to branch out and experience different areas of IBM.
