  • My role involves creating and analysing models to forecast the future of the energy industry. Use of excel, energy modelling software, python and power BI. Speaking to stakeholders and team meetings.

  • Yes I have learnt so much. You are treated as a normal employee, which means that you learn from day 1. Learnt a lot of technical skills, but mostly personable skills and how to act in a professional manner. Invaluable skills that I will take so the me for life.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes a lot of responsibility from day 1. You are given personal projects that you can lead which will be very valuable work for the team. I felt like I have made a big difference for the team but also the industry.

  • A lot of guidance and support. You have 2 managers, one for more welfare issues and one for your work day to day. We have training around our well-being and the culture is very focused on supporting eachother.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Very supportive and positive environment, everyone is around to support. We all have a clear goal of helping the industry reach net zero and that comes across in all meetings and around the office.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I enjoyed it greatly. I wouldn’t have changed my placement year. Very grateful for the company and my team. I felt up and down, but that would be the same at any company due to my lack of experience in any office.
