Overview
As a Retail Consultant within the Distribution Sector, my role was focused on providing support to the cluster team in managing regular communications, ensuring seamless collaboration and information exchange. Additionally, I contributed to the success of a key retail account, leveraging my skills and expertise to drive positive outcomes. Another significant aspect of my job involved organising and coordinating various retail-related events, which provided valuable opportunities for knowledge sharing, networking, and relationship building.
Skills
I had opportunities to connect with colleagues, clients, and industry professionals from diverse backgrounds and departments. I learned how to build and maintain relationships, navigate complex organisational structures, and identify key stakeholders. I also took on leadership roles and contributed to team projects, where I developed the ability to motivate and inspire others, set goals, and prioritise tasks. And finally, effective communication is critical in any professional setting, therefore I honed my ability to convey complex ideas, negotiate, and resolve conflicts.
Responsibilities
In my role as a Retail Consultant, my responsibilities were multifaceted and diverse. I was actively engaged in delivering client projects, leveraging my expertise to drive business value and meet the needs of our clients. Additionally, I contributed to the IBM community by sharing knowledge, best practices, and expertise to enhance our collective capabilities. Furthermore, I worked on several internal projects that are specifically aligned with the retail sector, focusing on innovation, growth, and excellence.
Support & Guidance
Throughout my time at IBM, I had the benefit of regular guidance from my dedicated Task Manager and Foundation Manager, who provided valuable support and direction. However, what truly stood out was the collective willingness of the entire IBM community to lend a helping hand. I never felt lost or uncertain, as there was always someone available to offer advice, share their expertise, or provide clarification on any questions I had. This open and collaborative culture fostered a sense of belonging and enabled me to navigate any challenges with confidence.
Culture
The atmosphere at IBM was incredibly warm and inclusive, with a strong sense of camaraderie that made me feel supported and valued. The entire team was united by a shared sense of purpose, and everyone was more than willing to lend a hand whenever needed. This collaborative spirit enabled us to work together seamlessly, pooling our skills and expertise to achieve our common objectives. It was a truly cohesive and motivating environment that brought out the best in everyone.
