Overview
My role involves managing customer relationships and process their renewals. My day-to-day responsibilities involve replying to emails, conducting customer calls, organising pricing and strategising on how to grow accounts.
Skills
Definitely. The main one would be the soft skills involved with sales e.g. forecasting, managing customer relationships and negotiating. Interpersonal skills are extremely important in sales roles, this was an existing skill for me which I have now developed further in a professional setting.
Responsibilities
I have been given a lot by having full control of an account base. I don't think this is particularly common and I am extremely grateful to have been given this opportunity as it has allowed me to largely develop my skills as someone who learns by doing.
Support & Guidance
A lot. Initially by the University team before beginning the role. Then once I did, I had a mentor in my team who was helping me learn the role. Also, the wider team has always been extremely welcoming and available to help me.
Culture
Absolutely incredible. From the get go, you are so welcomed and not made to feel like 'just' an intern. I have always felt involved and like I could go to anyone with a question. Not to mention Adobe values our personal wellbeing hugely, this is made clear with the incentives they offer.
Your Impressions
I am so grateful to my past self for choosing to do a placement year and then applying to Adobe. This has been one of the best years for me, inside and outside of work. Getting involved in corporate culture has been thoroughly enjoyable, aside from a few moments of stress. It's helped me learn more about myself and where I want to end up in the future.
Yes
Be yourself during the application and interview process. Adobe value authenticity and this speaks for itself. Be yourself and they will help you develop in the correct role for you.
