Overview
Most days I am working in the laboratory carrying out experiments that I have previously planned out for my supervisor. I also attend weekly meetings to engage in project based discussions with the rest of the team.
Skills
I have developed a whole range of transferable skills both inside and outside the lab and am able to seek out opportunities to increase more exposure to new skills.
Responsibilities
Yes, after receiving the relevant trainings needed, I was given responsibilities to plan different experiments and also given opportunities to reach out to relevant colleagues for discussions.
Support & Guidance
I have weekly meetings with my line manager and supervisor, for a brief check in on how I am doing/feeling and about the work in general. Other colleagues are also more than happy to support me when I encounter challenges.
Culture
Company culture and general atmosphere is really positive. There are lots of employee perks and inclusivity in the workplace through the regular events that are held in the company.
Your Impressions
I really enjoy my placement and working in this company in general. I would definitely want to return to work for this company in the future.
