Overview
Financial Reporting: including producing budgets and reconciling actual and forecasted numbers Supporting Hotel Openings: Constant communication with financial managers ensuring project is on track and escalating problems Learning & Development: Producing reports on L&D progression & supporting alongside process improvements Ad Hoc tasks
Skills
The experience has certainly allowed me to develop a whole wide range of skill especially my excel skills. Furthermore, constant communication with Finance Mangers across the world has improved my cross cultural knowledge and communication. In addition, i would say the experience really helps you to understand your weaknesses and strengths better and how you can improve.
Responsibilities
At first i was eased into the process as i still required a lot of training and my team were extremely new and still implementing processes. However, by the end i have become in charge of producing reports, spearheading projects and also trusted by senior team members for ad hoc requests.
Support & Guidance
My team provided me with the support necessary for improvement and also pushed me to become a self starter and use my initiative. The team provided me with great guidance during projects offering feedback on how to improve but also identifying my strengths and how to use them.
Culture
Company culture is excellent. Quarterly we received social events for the whole office, in addition one week a year is team member appreciation week including events all week to celebrate team members efforts. I would certainly recommend Hilton if you are looking for an amazing culture its certainly something they pride themselves on.
Your Impressions
Absolutely loved the internship. I was blessed to have an amazing team who made coming into work a pleasure and i also met some other great people who alongside the Hilton discount gave me the opportunity to travel and make some great memories.
