Overview
Overall my role usually work on stress analysis for damaged in-Service aircrafts and digitally automate stress calculation with Python. In day-to-day basis there is a lot report writing, some stress analysis using Excel, Airbus Stress Analysis Softwares, Nastrans, LAP, Python coding etc.
Skills
Yes, I have learnt a lot aircraft wing stress analysis process. I also enhanced my python coding skill, had some experience with DevOps (CI/CD) and Machine Learning. I also developed my interpersonal skill through this placement.
Responsibilities
Yes, I have given quite a few individual projects which I take full responsibility. This helped me to develop my project management skill as well.
Support & Guidance
I receive very good and detailed support from my supervisor and my colleagues, everyone are very nice and helpful. I need to ask a lot of questions that are not in the onboarding guide which is understandable since Airbus is a big company and there is a lot of things going on, there isn't a fully covered guide for all processes.
Culture
Company culture is brilliant, very diverse, everyone are nice and chill and love to help and not competitive. Airbus probably has one of best work-life-balance in the UK with 35h working hour per week, 40% work from home time and 30+ days holidays.
Your Impressions
I quite enjoy it, I learnt a lot of things I wished to and my managers were very supportive for me to look for opportunities for my self-development.
Yes
Try to network with Airbus employee and make sure the role is what you want to do because Airbus has a lot a lot of teams and sometimes what the team actually does is quite different with the team name
