Overview
I am required to develop new technology for new model vehicles entering the JLR halewood site from a manufacturing engineering perspective. I work with design teams, programmes teams and other ME technologies to help produce a finished vehicle and help support JLR launch operations.
Skills
I have developed presenting skills, interpersonal skills and team working skills. I have gained new skills in business, negotiation and more.
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibility during my project, leading a key programme manufacturing research project and introducing a new facility. I have also been responsible for key projects for my team.
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of support and guidance during my placement, from co-workers all the way to senior management. I am very pleased with the support and connections I have made on this placement.
Culture
JLR is very keen to promote DE&I which is great and the company does a lot to ensure that people are looked after in the company. However, working in a manufacturing site their is still some work that needs to be done to make it more inclusive. I do feel that JLR is working towards this.
Your Impressions
I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at JLR and have been able to gain some truely amazing experiences. I would like to have received some more formal training at points but otherwise my experience has been exceptional!
Yes
Ensure that you have read about JLRs corporate policies and know the company well. Your application should use key words in JLRs job description. You should take enough time to prepare for the assessment centre
