    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I started in Online Retail Marketing which was very data-driven to optimise and monitor performance of Samsung products on various retailer websites. After 3 months, the team structure changed and I moved into Channel Marketing. This role involved communicating with retailers directly to set up products, execute promotional campaigns, and optimise Samsung’s presence on the retailer websites.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I believe my communication and teamwork skills have significantly improved this year. I have also developed presentation skills, the ability to write clear and persuasive emails, to work flexibly, and respond calmly to change. I have also learnt how to interpret data and use it to make plans for improving performance. Finally, I have learnt how to manage and work within a budget.

  • I was given more responsibility than I ever anticipated, which I am very grateful for because this had a great impact on my development.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I am happy with the quantity and quality of support I had during my placement. I had daily contact with my line manager and I regularly had catch-ups with the director of my team as well. They looked after me very well. The Emerging Talent team were always available for us too which was excellent.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The atmosphere was fantastic because there is a good balance between being serious and having fun. The company culture is unique but it truly squeezes the best out of each individual to strive towards objectives.
