Overview
The job is almost entirely project based, so most days will follow different routines depending what projects are currently in the works. At an overall viewpoint - the projects follow the idea of wanting to improve the customer interaction with the company. Across the whole buying cycle the customer interacts at numerous points, it is at those points the projects are tailored at improving. My focus was on Delivery and offering other premium options such as Saturday delivery.
Skills
Excel has become my useful and most developed skill after this internship. Using it daily created the challenge and opportunity to develop my excel skill to the point where peers believe I am very skilled at this. In truth I do the basic well. On top of all this, L'Oréal offer a wide variety of learnings that in taking advantage of helped me learn way past the operations of the company into the other functions.
Responsibilities
Because of my work being mostly project base it had meant I was very independent and trusted. My weekly catchup with my line manager creating the opportunity to discuss these responsibilities - but in leading projects I was trusted and encouraged to work to the best of my ability.
Support & Guidance
A great deal. The team I worked with were kind and smart which meant whenever I was in need of support, whoever I asked would be happy and willing to help me out.
Culture
In the division I worked in I was pleasantly surprised by how open everyone was. Not all chat was about work and colleagues had genuine interest in your personal life. When it came to work all those involved int he projects would be present and welcoming in offering their support.
Your Impressions
Fully Enjoyed! Not only did I learn a lot, which is what I went in wanting to do, I had fun social experiences which I was not expecting. Work was new and exciting most days and the freedom I was given in these projects meant I could pursue any Idea that I thought could work.
Yes
But 100% effort into it because it will be worth it. All I could suggest that worked for me was to be yourself in the interviews and show your personality.
