    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • On a day-to-day basis I respond to queries from customers and the sales team, mostly regarding training registrations, log-in details, and rewards. I am often working closely with our design agency to create engaging artwork for the e-learning sites and interactive pieces for our quarterly rewards incentives. Regularly setting up courses and uploading material to the sites.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • My communication has significantly improved - learning how to be clear and concise over email is key. Project management is a new skill - being given independence to manage areas of a project or an entire project have really helped develop this. Commercial awareness is a new skill - L'Oreal hosts regular upskilling workshops and talks on a variety of topic which I have attended. Accompanying members of my team out on field visits is also very insightful

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes. My manager has always been very trusting and supportive in allowing me to take ownership of tasks I enjoy or projects that would be good for my development. For example, I have often been asked to take on creative briefs as it is known that this is something I enjoy.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I received a lot of support and guidance from my line manager over the year. We regularly aligned our office days and had weekly 1:1s to help review my priorities for the week. If I had any problems I knew I could report them without fear of negative repercussions.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Very varied but aways friendly and often respectful of boundaries. General atmosphere feels like people enjoy being at the office - however since we moved office in August 2023 there feels like there is less of a community on each floor.

  • To a large extent. I really enjoyed my role and loved the variety of tasks involved with a perfect mixture of creativity and admin. I had a great team and always looked forward to being in the office with my manager. It was nice to have opportunities to attend events outside of the office with the field team too.
