    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My day-to-day responsibilities: - Tracking and analysing sales figures, promotions and new product launches - Supporting my team/account in tailoring new launches and maximising their success - Identifying new business opportunities - Accurately forecasting promotions and launch quantities - Track the companies accruals and spending - Taking on and managing my own projects, long and short term with the potential to present my findings to senior management - Working with retailers on collaborative ideas to support growth in the account/brand.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I've definitely developed my analytical skills, when tracking the sales and creating an EPOS report I have to constantly analyse trends in the market, the success of competitors and promotions to understand and provide reasons for and spikes or dips in sales. I've also developed my excel skills, learning new and essential formulas that help save time and benefit the company. I've learnt new numerical skills that have given me the ability to study and interpret complex information to drive business decisions and highlight opportunities for growth. Most importantly I've developed skills during my placement year that have been invaluable and that I will take away in my future career and use to help with my own self growth also. These include agility, resilience, communication and presentation.

As an intern you are also extremely respected, there is no hierarchy or power complex everyone is treated equally which is great.
