Overview
Vacation schemers sit in two seats during the experience. We were assigned buddies and supervisors for each seat. I sat in PRM and Lending and Restructuring. General tasks included document drafting, client calls, case summaries, creating ‘bibles’, and more.
Skills
I developed a lot of new skills that aren’t typically taught in the LLB such as client sensitivity. It was also an excellent opportunity to display general skills such as time management, organisation, independence and resilience.
Business Insight
Getting to know the firm from inside was a great opportunity to build upon prior knowledge. I learned a lot about the pro bono work, volunteering opportunities and saw firsthand the firms dedication to its values.
Culture
The culture and atmosphere was welcoming. Everyone was lovely and there were always people to help or talk to.
