  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes, at Aldi from early days you are expected to take personal responsibility to drive your own training and manage your own workload. However, you have an experienced area manager as a mentor who is there for support and guidance across the course of the training program.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Aldi has a very niche culture with a set management culture, and is very target driven so can be challenging - but hence the generous pay/benefits. However colleagues are friendly and you are made to feel welcome from the get go.

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I have enjoyed having an insight into working life and it has been nice to earn money. I have also gained invaluable skills such as resilience and organisation that I believe will differentiate be from my peers at university. However be prepared to work hard.

  • Ensure you have the desirable skills for the role and experiences to demonstrate these skills. Be willing to push yourself and invest some of your time into the role in return for great salary and to be in with a good chance to be invited back after your placement.
