Overview
My leading roles are stress, material, fatigue analysing, standardising the existing methods of analysing, and project management. Mostly, I do FEA of robot adaptors and grippers, report it to the design teams if there are any concerns, and provide design recommendations to overcome those issues.
Skills
I have gathered new skills as well as developed my existing skills. My new skills are business management, business relations, Structural examinations, learning new software like Catia v6,Teamcenter, SimSolid. During the placement, I developed all my existing skills like CAD, Microsoft 365, Team & general communication, Finite Element Analysis etc.
Responsibilities
After just two months of my placement and all the trainings, I got my own project. I managed the project for the whole year and finished it just before finishing my placement. During that project, I oversaw all the crucial tasks and responsibilities such as maintaining constant communication with other teams within JLR and our suppliers. Besides, I also completed many other small and medium projects.
Support & Guidance
At the beginning of my placement, I was overwhelmed with all the trainings and onboarding materials. During that time, all of my team members and specially my supervisor was very supportive and friendly. My whole placement was super smooth and easy because of their continuous guidance. I never had to go through any stresses because they always helped me when I needed.
Culture
The company culture and general atmosphere are very friendly, supportive, helpful, and flexible. JLR is always trying to maintain an exceptionally healthy workforce by organising both mental and physical health webinars and events, incentivising employees to lead healthy life, etc. Overall, the environment at JLR is highly creative, inclusive, and wonderful.
Your Impressions
I am grateful that I had the chance to do my placement and start my career in the world-renowned company Jaguar Land Rover. My experience at Jaguar Land Rover was excellent and better than I had expected before starting my placement.
Yes
Be yourself. Do not afraid of anything. JLR will provide all the help you might need and train you with all the necessary materials that you may need to develop your skills.
