Overview
A typical day involves working as part of an audit team on sections of the financial statements. You are given specific areas for a certain client during their audit and you examine allocated sections to make sure their figures are true and fair in correspondence to be in their financial statements.
Skills
I've learnt multiple skills as listed below: Teamwork Networking Social Skills Client facing interactions Audit Accounting I came to BDO as an accounting and finance university student who just completed my 2nd year. My accounting skills progressed massively during the training in the first month/2 months.
Responsibilities
On each audit you are responsible for certain aspects but are always able to ask questions if you need to. There is always help available.
Support & Guidance
There is endless support whether that's doing the actual audit or personal problems or anything you can think of.
Culture
The culture at BDO is known for being strong and it certainly was. Everybody is welcoming and friendly.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement - you are given more responsibility as you go along which for me was welcomed. I have made many friends which I hope to keep.
