Overview
On a day-to-day basis, I usually program new features, engage in team discussions, fix bugs, deploying applications to higher environments, monitor and track applications for any errors that may occur, especially in higher environments.
Skills
Yes, I have been able to improve my technical skills which include learning about programming fundamentals, AWS, Spring framework among other software. In terms of soft skills, I have gained team building and presentation skills alongside time management.
Responsibilities
Yes, even as a placement student, I was given the opportunity to engage in core tasks that impacts the business. I have been able to explore various activities aside from coding.
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of support and guidance from both the software engineering team I was a part of alongside the early careers team. They have helped me not only learn new skills, both technical and non-technical but also alleviate any of my concerns throughout my placement
Culture
The company culture is excellent. I have enjoyed working in Experian due to its positive work environment and the culture it advocates for. I have found myself being able to immerse and excel in my role due to the people around me and the values instilled within the company.
Your Impressions
I have thoroughly enjoyed my internship as it has presented me with the opportunity to network, learn from more senior members of the company, gain industry experience, engage in social activities as well as enhancing the knowledge I have gained through the first and second year of university.
