Overview
Reviewing and approving purchases for all group brands in the UK within certain thresholds, providing support to the wider Procurement team on larger projects / spends. Coordinating and supporting on local Procurement forums and ensuring efficiency within the meetings. Providing general administrative support to stakeholders, guiding them through Procurement requirements to ensure auditability in the future.
Skills
Regularly give opportunities to present to Procurement forums, and the wider business. Worked within specialised financial software's and developed skills within Excel and VWG internal systems. Required to provide clear communication to a wide range of stakeholders and suppliers who are navigating procurement requirements and expectations, developing both communication and literacy (email) skills
Responsibilities
Responsibility increases as you progress through the placement year, taking on more specialised work as you develop. VWG / The Procurement team offer the opportunities to take on more responsibility as you become competent and develop confidence with work-load
Support & Guidance
Support and guidance was offered very consistently throughout the year, by both the direct team I worked with and the wider VWG Undergraduate HR/People Team.
Culture
Fast paced and innovative, constantly reviewing the way that we work and looking for potential efficiencies and better ways to work
