Overview
Implementing Lean tools and processes within the entire business to eliminate waste and continuously identify ideas for improvement. Everyday is different and immersive - working cross-functionally within manufacturing and transactional environments to help support in any way that I can.
Skills
Skills learnt have been within Lean; and stemming from this is greater communication, planning, and time management. Problem solving is also a key skill developed. I have gained further skills in engineering as a result of working in this kind of enviromnent also.
Responsibilities
I was made to feel as part of the team from the 1st day - and not just a placement student. I was handed as much responsibility as I could handle / cope, and my managers and team mates supported me constantly.
Support & Guidance
I had regular 1-1's with my managers to discuss progress and anything else that could make my role easier. Equally, if I wanted to try new things or push myself, I had a regular forum in which to discuss this.
Culture
Immersive culture and great atmosphere and integration of people throughout the entire business.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it excessively - working in an industry that appeals so much to me and with such important product has been continuously eye opening and enjoyable.
