Overview
• Supporting the Vendor Alliance Operations manager with planning and executing of transformational operations projects to drive process improvement. • Assisting in the generation of data and metrics, deep diving into data and process mapping. • Supporting and monitoring multiple elements of the key strategic vendor statuses to maintain compliance. • Liaising and develop relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendor stakeholders. • Developing an understanding of vendor initiatives and support where required.
Skills
Yes. I have enhanced so many of my transferable skills, such as organisation, planning, communication and analytics. My confidence has grown tremendously over my placement, due to my increased knowledge of the industry, along side upskilling in our priority areas. My increased responsibility within the organisation has driven me to be inquisitive, challenge ideas and build a whole new network.
Responsibilities
Over Placement, my managers and other peers have given me extensive individual responsibility, allowing me to build trust and help to develop my own personal brand. I currently manage our MDF tracker for all vendors, alongside other short term projects. One of those being a service with an external stakeholder. I have always been able to work on what i think is beneficial to my career and have never felt restricted in terms of responsibility.
Support & Guidance
Softcat have gone over and above in terms of support for my placement. My line manager had an onboarding program ready when I arrived along side regular 1-1 meetings each week. The support network with the other interns has been well maintained and there is always someone to talk to in relation to a range of problems. Other managers have mentored me and given me advise on uni projects, my work ethic and ways to improve as well.
Culture
Softcat's company culture is unmatched. Everyday is a fun day and they go above and beyond to host events and keep everyone connected. The office always has a good vibe and is a relaxed environment to work in. From charity balls, to quizzes, to 80's days, softcat always surprise us with something fun
Your Impressions
I wouldn't have wanted to do placement anywhere else. From my role, to the people softcat has been an amazing opportunity for me. I love the flexibility of my role and the social nature as well. everyone at softcat is so friendly and are always trying to help you grow.
