    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility on my placement. I had been tasked with creating documents for the engineering test schedules, I was allowed to oversee resin trials at the manufacturing site. I sat in on customer calls on projects I had helped with. I was also given the opportunity to go to the labs to build test fixtures.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I received a lot of guidance from my coworkers just by asking day to day questions about the tasks I was working on and I did not feel like a burden doing so. We were also given training and talks by chief and principal engineers throughout placement along with the engineering week.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • In this company almost everyone is pretty friendly, even though some people are quite busy they are still willing to help you and give you feedback on any tasks and projects. It wasn't hard to feel welcomed and it felt genuine.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • This year I feel like I have come a long way as an engineer. I know that I have encountered challenging tasks, that forced me to adapt and learn from others, but it has been a good experience. There are ups and downs, where you could have a very busy week or a slow week, but as a whole I have enjoyed my placement and I am grateful for all the skills I have learnt.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Pall Corporation
  • When applying to Pall obviously you need to put your best foot forward and sell yourself, but you should also ask questions to learn more about the company and their culture. Try to be enthusiastic when you speak and show that you care. Highlight all of your relevant work experience and don't bother too much with things that are not too relevant to the job.
