Overview
My Role entails working daily on Organising seeding to influencers and editors on time for Launches and Press deadlines to create awareness for our brands/ products. I work with external suppliers on events, ensuring there are PO's raised for them prior to events and ensuring they are fully briefed on the event running. I prepare reports and create campaigns to share with the wider team on the comms and advocacy front sharing tracked content, media coverage, engagements, rates and video views.
Skills
I have learned many skills in my 12 months at L'Oréal. I have learned how a fast pace industry works, How change can happen so quickly and how to deal with these changes which i feel is a very important skill when working in a company like LOréal. I have developed stronger skills on Microsoft office working daily with outlook, teams, PowerPoint and excel. I have learned how important team work is and how communication is really the back bone to a successful business, without communication there is no smooth running of anything. I truly believe Loreal has thought me some amazing skills that will be vital to carry into my future career.
Responsibilities
As part of my internship i was given a lot of responsibity, as i was part of such a small team we did work very closely with each other and were given individual responsibilities especially towards the end of my placement. I felt that been given this level of responsibility was really valuable for my personal and career development and thought me a lot which i will carry for the rest of my career
Support & Guidance
I was given a lot of support and guidance from my colleagues in my office but also from my colleagues in the UK. I feel like in the hard times throughout the year the support really helped me get through these moments. The guidance given to me for future career choices post university was very helpful for me in making them decisions.
Culture
The company culture and general atmosphere within L'Oréal was amazing. Everyone is very friendly and willing to help, in loreal is it always said that everyone is happy to have a chat/ grab a coffee and answer any career questions, I can say first hand that the this is true. The culture and atmosphere is most definitely a positive within the company.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my 12 months placement with L'Oréal. From the experiences, friendships, skills learned and everything in between i enjoyed every moment of it even the hard times. I would recommend this placement to anyone interested in the beauty industry looking for a comms and advocacy placement
