Overview
I worked within a team, almost like a full time software engineer would. I participated in daily stand-ups, and largely worked on my own project; however, I would also pick up relevant tickets that could help my team and project. I delivered frequent demos of my project and collaborated closely with my mentor and members of my team.
Skills
I learnt a lot of hard skills, becoming much more proficient in programming, and git. I learnt about how to use a lot of in house tools. I learnt just as much in terms of soft skills, learning how to effectively communicate with members of my team and others. I learnt how to document my work well and deliver effective demonstrations of my project.
Responsibilities
I was in charge of the direction and scope of my project, so I think I was given much more responsibility than an intern would normally be given. This allowed me to get a real understanding of what it would be like to work as a software engineer at G research
Support & Guidance
I received good support and guidance from many different sources. I had my mentor and manager overlooking me from a high level, and my "buddy", an assigned member of my team, to ask low level questions to.
Culture
I really enjoyed being at G Research and though the atmosphere and culture were great
Your Impressions
