Overview
A typical day would involve the preparing of reports to be sent to both internal and external stakeholders. Answering queries from customers/internal teams related to the reports or questions surrounding wider order status and product information. This is alongside undertaking work on projects to optimise processes and to further skills development.
Skills
During my time at the business I have been afforded the opportunity to develop a mixture of hard and soft skills. These include skills in data processing and analysis through the use of Excel and projects extending into the use of Power BI. Alongside this I have continued to develop softer skills such as collaboration and problem solving through continued exposure to and practice of both areas over the past 12 months.
Responsibilities
I feel as though I was given a suitable level of reasonability during my internship, enough to make the work engaging and to develop without ever becoming overwhelming or burdensome. After a period of training, I was given full responsibility over my core role of reporting with little excess oversight. Alongside this, over time, many ad hoc requests from the business and customer became my responsibility to respond to.
Support & Guidance
I had an extremely supportive team to work with, and I had full confidence that I could go to them to receive guidance and support at any point. The wider Supply Chain team were also always happy to help and support.
Culture
The company culture is very inclusive and supportive. There is a nice element of implicit trust between you and the business, including a degree of freedom given to employees providing the work is on time and of high quality.
Your Impressions
I have had a great and enjoyable 12 months being a part of the business, I feel as though I have been given the opportunities and responsibility to achieve much of what I wanted to when I first started. I have had a fantastically supportive team and I take only positive experiences, learnings and memories from my time at the business.
