Overview
Get into the office. Check emails for any updates that have been completed on the website - review and either approve them, or validate the, and agree for them to be pushed live on the website. Meet with the teams and see if there are any updates they are wanting to their product pages or listings pages on the website. Check if there are any review campaigns that either need to be started to if the data needs to be sorted for them, such as sending customer data to an agency who ship products.
Skills
My total knowledge of SEO has been improved. Such as what will help a page rank higher on search engines. As well as what meta data is and how it can be used to optimise as webpage. I also now have a thorough understanding of google analytics such as how to sort the data, as well as export it and put it in a format which is easily understandable to those who aren't aware of how the soft wear works and what each metric means.
Responsibilities
Much responsibility. I am overseeing the total L'Oréal Paris website. So anything that launches on site needs my approval and go ahead. This include important press releases, which often have to be tailored specifically to the website. Additionally I have total access to the youtube channel so anything that is posted on there much first come through me. Additionally, landing pages are build for campaigns where ads are driven too. This means that these must all be completed and validated before the campaign starts.
Support & Guidance
Much, having weekly meetings with my manager to raise any concerns. There are also a wider team who are always there to help with any issues. The category's teams are also very helpful with any product related questions, allowing the pages that go live to have all the correct information and up to date images. There are also the other digital team within L'Oréal group who I have meeting with often and they can help out as much of there job role is similar to mine.
Culture
Its such a fun company to work for. The culture is very much work hard play hard. With a fun atmosphere in the office and lots of after work activities. The team makes a lot of effort to get to know the interns, and many event and clubs are set up for all the interns to get to know each other as well. Additionally there are corporate parties every quarter which are a great way to get to know the wider team.
Your Impressions
I have had such a great year. The L'Oréal Paris team are so much fun to work with and the other interns are so much fun. It really is such a great community to be a part of. I've also learn so much during my time here. There has been so much encouragement from both my direct team and the wider one. The people are really what has made the year so enjoyable.
Yes
Be specific and read the job role before you apply. Don't apply for a job for the sake of it, it is such a fun company but the work is hard and there is a lot of responsibility that's needed to be taken on. On top of that before you apply really read the presentation brief for the interview and put you're own twist on whatever you are asked to present.
