Overview
Businesses management trainee involved learning 5 aspects of the company and how to run a branch; Daily rental, HR, risk, growth and vehicle replacement. I learned how to plan the logistics of a day, went on corporate account meetings in order to grow the business for our branch, body shop and dealership meetings too.
Skills
Developed my people skills and how to hold a meeting professionally and informally. My logistical skills improved with regards to time management and efficiency with utilising our fleet.
Responsibilities
Yes, a lot of responsibility as I gained more experience. After 9 months, I was left to run a branch for 5 days without a manager present. Throughout the internship I had the captaincy roles of Risk, Corporate growth and vehicle safety.
Support & Guidance
Tonnes of support was provided not only at branch level but also throughout the hierarchy and different departments. I’ve gained so many new contacts, all of which are always open for a call if I need some advice or help.
Culture
Amazing! Very friendly, professional at times but also a relaxed atmosphere. Very diverse workforce allowed me to learn new things about other people’s cultures which will help me in the future in different global companies.
Your Impressions
87/10 for enjoyment but 10/10 for personal development - which is the most important part.
Yes
Make sure you have a good work ethic, apply yourself. You’ll have very bad days but very good days so enjoy the highs and grit your teeth when it gets intense, because tomorrow will probably be better.
