    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • After doing a full 12 months with Enterprise I can certainly say that it is worth it. The amount of opportunity to make even more money than the expected salary is endless. Just by excellent performance, you can easily earn an extra few hundred pounds each month. Following this, intern competitions are held with the opportunity of earning thousands of pounds which is a great way to have fun and also make money. Enterprise also promotes from within so you can climb up the ranks extremely fast which is perfect for young ambitious individuals who want the best start to their career. Towards the end of your 12 months with Enterprise you get tested on the the 5 core areas of the business which allows you to test your knowledge over the past year. The benefit to passing this, is that you can then be promoted to assistant manager and you also get a £500 bonus in your next paycheck. I would recommend this to any individual that wants the most out of their job as you certainly get out as much as you put in.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • In terms of overall confidence I have seen a great improvement. This is due to the fact that you deal with a variety of customers every single day from different ages to different backgrounds. Linking to this, my customer service skills have dramatically improved which is mainly due to the fact that enterprise is such a customer service based business. Finally, I have learnt how businesses actually operate in the real world and I feel like this gives placement students a great insight into real life operations.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • During my placement I was given a lot of responsibility, which some may see as a bad thing. But in reality it’s not. To be given responsibility in a business means that you have to step up and perform to your best, otherwise things could go wrong. I believe that it also gives you a taste of what work would be like once you get promoted to a management level position. Overall you are given responsibility but you also have the support of management.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • During my enterprise I was given a lot of support from pretty much everyone. I can say that everyone I have dealt with at enterprise has also had my development in their best interest. In terms of my branch manager and assistant manager they have both been great to me and supported me throughout the whole year whether that be professionally or just as a friend. I could not ask for anything more from them.
