Overview
The scheme commenced with a three day induction in the London office with the interns across the UK. This proved invaluable as it allowed different offices to network and mingle. Following, we had a three week scheme where we sat in seat 1 for two weeks and seat 2 for a further week. This has allowed me to fully immerse myself within the teams and learn a lot regarding past and current matters.
Skills
Both! I have worked very hard on various research tasks and then been encouraged to present those findings to both the team in the London office as well as European offices. This took me out of my comfort zone and encouraged me to take ownership of the work I had done. I also did and developed my drafting skills and some BD work by completing a deck for a client presentation.
Business Insight
It was fab. There is a diverse set of positions available and the firm has a clear focus on innovation.
Culture
General atmosphere - 10/10. Everyone was beyond welcoming and kind - whether support staff or partner. All questions were welcomed and I was pushed to my best potential.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it, particularly due to how much I learnt but also due to the kindness of my team, the general firm and my fellow interns!
Yes
Align your application to the firm and show off your personality - the firm has a large emphasis on getting to know YOU! And also why you are interested in the law - what excites you / intrigues you etc etc.
