Overview
There was a three day induction in the London office which consisted of learning more about the firm, its practice areas, people, and its strategy. The next two weeks I spent in the corporate department and assisted trainees and associates with document review, drafting, creating meeting notes and creating document bundles. I have not yet started my final week in the responsible business department.
Skills
I have developed my communication and team work skills from the group project aspect of the scheme. I have also developed new legal skills from attending meetings, seminars and the various other tasks I was assigned.
Business Insight
Very good. We have had various talks from employees who work in the knowledge hub, technology sector and well being sector to name a few.
Culture
The company culture is excellent, it was very easy to speak to people from all levels of the firm. We were also given specific time to network during, and outside of office hours with both other interns and employees.
Your Impressions
It was incredibly enjoyable, the three day induction was a great way for everyone to get settled and learn more about the firm. Furthermore, the work we completed was both exciting and never repetitive which made the scheme even more enjoyable.
Yes
Learn as much as you can about the firm and think about how its values apply to you. During the application process make sure to be yourself as they will know if you are not being genuine.
