Overview
In this trade compliance role, I managed financial reporting, tracked spend and project savings, and maintained duty management systems. I collaborated with Customs brokers and suppliers, supported cross-business unit projects, ensured data integrity, developed supply chain KPI reporting, and analysed KPIs to identify improvement areas and action plans.
Skills
I have enhanced my ability to read, analyse, and manipulate data using various software tools. Additionally, I have developed strong teamwork skills and learned to communicate effectively with team members and suppliers. I have also gained extensive knowledge about logistics processes for multiple global companies.
Responsibilities
I was responsible for handling site queries and providing clearance instructions to our customs broker. Additionally, I managed the quarterly team audits for our imports and exports. I also completed forms for HMRC to ensure the correction of duty overpayments/underpayments.
Support & Guidance
The Cummins trade compliance team was always open to helping me with any queries, providing ample guidance that enabled me to work efficiently as part of the team.
Culture
The company had a very welcoming culture, making it easy for placement students to integrate into our teams.
