    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • In this trade compliance role, I managed financial reporting, tracked spend and project savings, and maintained duty management systems. I collaborated with Customs brokers and suppliers, supported cross-business unit projects, ensured data integrity, developed supply chain KPI reporting, and analysed KPIs to identify improvement areas and action plans.

  • I have enhanced my ability to read, analyse, and manipulate data using various software tools. Additionally, I have developed strong teamwork skills and learned to communicate effectively with team members and suppliers. I have also gained extensive knowledge about logistics processes for multiple global companies.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was responsible for handling site queries and providing clearance instructions to our customs broker. Additionally, I managed the quarterly team audits for our imports and exports. I also completed forms for HMRC to ensure the correction of duty overpayments/underpayments.

  • Try to develop your Microsoft skills before starting the role. Microsoft Excel is essential for most of the roles and learning shortcuts will save you a lot of time.
