    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • The tasks vary widely depending on the department and the day. However, I found that the most regular tasks involved reviewing, editing and drafting documents as well as attending calls.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed my attention to detail as reviewing documents requires a lot of prolonged concentration. I have also developed time management skills from having to balance work from a variety of different individuals with different deadline. This has also fostered my communication skills to ensure I was always asking questions and being curious of the work of those around me.

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • During the Induction in the London office you gain a huge amount of insight in the variety of roles at the firm (fee earning and non fee earning) as well as getting talks which explain DLA Piper's global structure. There are also talks discussing the history of the company as well as its future goals, developments and leaders. Overall, the induction gives you a great big picture view of the firm.
