Overview
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at L'Oréal. I learned invaluable skills cross divisions. I loved the organizational culture & the exposure across the brands I worked with. I now know I have a passion for marketing & working in brand retail. My experience opened my eyes to new areas & roles I want to learn more about in the future, to build my skill set. I found the OneProfile platform amazing to carry out self learning, especially in my weaker areas. L'Oréal is a team made up of hard working & welcoming individuals, who are experts in their fields. I was given endless opportunities & support while at L'Oréal. My line manager was a great mentor to me & provided exceptional guidance over my year here. Working with teams across UKI enabled me to have effective communication skills & build meaningful work relationships, through networking. I would not have obtained the knowledge, skills & know-how I now have, if it was not for L'Oréal. I can now take this back to my final year of college, to aid in my studies. Many thanks L'Oréal & I look forward to my future career, wherever it takes me.

Responsibilities
Yes! I was given the opportunity to lead on projects. I was given the responsibility of raising purchase orders for my team, allocating & re-allocating budget spend for different months over the year. I was the decision & action pusher during brand clinic weekly. I reached out to brand & training managers to support on the successful running of events, which I was given opportunity to do so. I carried out competitor retailer reviews to inform my team of different competitors in our market across dermatology, luxury & mass markets. Creating artwork & web banners for our e-retailers which is 5% of our weight of business.
Support & Guidance
All the support & guidance I needed was given to me when & if required. My Services is an amazing platform L'Oréal uses where you can request help & raise tickets for any issues you are having with your apps, platforms etc. We had an amazing head of IT in our office who gave me help whenever I needed it. My marketing director & line manager supported me daily along with my fellow interns and colleagues. My division had a learning platform where we could upskill on brand knowledge and training. We were also awarded for our learning which which was amazing. Their was a lot of support from mental health resources & help lines to many different committees you can be part of. I am grateful to have been part of the Nextgen mental health committee, wellness warriors & the social committee. The learning platform MyProfile was excellent is allowing me to upskill in areas needed and track my goals, feedback from my team & learning hours. Learning Friday's were run 1-2 times a month and enables us to learn from different people both internally & externally to the business. 10/10 support and training as weekly & bi-weekly sessions/help lines are run continuously and open to everyone.
Culture
Everyone was welcoming and friendly. The office space felt like one big team regardless of what division you belonged to. The supports, trainings, platforms, committees & benefits provided were 10/10 and greatly utilized. I am glad that I had a placement with a company with such great work ethic & a connective company culture. The company culture definitely stood out out to me. The company as a whole is committed to being eco-friendly, equal & inclusive. I always felt wanted, included, respected & appreciated by my teams. I was always thanked & acknowledged for my work, which makes all the difference as an intern, as this was my first corporate role.
