Overview
On a normal day, I would serve customers in and out of cars, answering their queries via phone and email. This involves selling excess protection to them. I would also deliver vehicles to corporate customers. There are captaincies where you focus on improving different sections of the business, such as fleet health, sales, marketing and insurance reservation conversion.
Skills
I’ve learnt how important each factor of a business is to the success it reaps. Every section is interlinked, and a failure in one results in everything failing. I learnt the foundations of sales, the importance of customer service and how important it is for good teamwork
Responsibilities
You were responsible for increasing revenue through the sales channels, as well as customer service score through pushing survey responses from customers. The captaincies held the greatest responsibilities, where the success in each section of the business was down to your work. E.g responsible for maintaining and gaining corporate business (marketing), reducing risk and improving vehicle health (Risk/BCM) or ensuring as many insurance reservations go into hire
Support & Guidance
There was a great support network during my placement, any questions you had were answered by colleagues, managers or trainers. If you wanted to go down a certain route, then the relevant people would show guidance
Culture
The culture and atmosphere was really encouraging. Everyone wanted everyone to do their best and progress. Everyone knew the importance of teamwork, so because of this team morale was really high and everyone got on
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement at Enteprise. It gave me a real insight into what it’s like to run a business, and the potential paths that I could take in the future. The business model of Enterprise is really motivational, as all promotions are internal, so the opportunities for progress are much higher than other businesses
Yes
There’s a lot to learn, but once you’ve got the hang of things everything comes really easy to you. If you’re then stuck on something, all the team are really supportive and will help you overcome the issue.
