  • Providing general sales support to the team including supporting both the Sales Operations Manager and the Planning Manager with ad hoc projects and day-to-day tasks. Fleet Management – with hundreds of internal bikes on a number of different fleets (Press, Shows, Events, Off Road Skills, etc), careful management of the fleet is critical. Creating PowerPoint presentations for information delivery to senior stakeholders and internal departments. SAP Administration including and not limited to Retailer Payments and internal sundry payments. Supporting with research into potential new sales channels.

    Skills

  • I have developed my interpersonal skills through working at various events throughout the year organised by the marketing team. I have developed my excel skills considerably during this time through learning how to write different formulas and using VBA Macros. I have learnt how to act/communicate in line with corporate mannerisms. All of the above are transferrable and important in a wide array of roles.

The same goes for the other staff in my team who always seemed willing to help on the matter and were able to send me to other areas of the business if they couldn't help in the first instance.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • I really enjoyed the atmosphere of Motorrad in particular due to being in a smaller team, I found it really easy to make changes to process as it may only have to go through 1 or 2 levels for this to occur. As for the wider company it was a really welcoming atmosphere and I was made to feel like I was an important part of the team, not just a university student.

  • I enjoyed my placement thoroughly which was predominantly due to my prior interest in the motorcycle industry meaning I was able to feel more invested in my work as opposed to doing the task without interest in the meaning behind it, which may have been evident with other placements.
