Overview
I assist in the coordination and implementation of marketing campaigns for TUI, Marella, and Crystal Ski. I support my team in digital marketing, which includes social media content planning and eCRM. I manage the creation of weekly releases and participate in PR and media activity. I produce monthly KPI reports and track media coverage.
Skills
Through regular meetings and projects, I have significantly developed my communication skills and feel confident in my work abilities. A new skill learnt has been time-management and effective prioritisation, which has accelerated my work productivity. Through my time here, I have built a strong rapport with my team, which has led to the growth in my team working skills. TUI has been a tremendous environment in facilitating my personal and professional development.
Responsibilities
Throughout my placement year, I was given an increasing amount of responsibility on a day-to-day basis. I was eased into it, through training sessions and support from others. I would now consider myself to be an integral part of my team, with several tasks falling under my responsibility. This has been highly rewarding, as I recognise my impact and the trust bestowed onto me by others.
Support & Guidance
Throughout my placement, I have received an overwhelming amount of support from my line-manager, Marketing team, the L&D team, as well as the wider business. I was given thorough guidance on my role and felt comfortable asking questions whenever necessary. Through this, I have developed my knowledge and skillsets in the Marketing field and Tourism & Travel industry. I was also given a placement buddy, and a mentor, which added to the support received.
Culture
Throughout my placement, I have recognised the sense of open-mindedness, enthusiasm, and individualism among colleagues. I am always encouraged to bring my personality to work and feel comfortable being myself. The work culture has been friendly and laid-back, which put me at ease upon starting my placement.
Your Impressions
My placement experience exceeded my original expectations. I was given the opportunity to move abroad and have built friendships with many people in the company. The travel opportunities have also been an added bonus! I never feel short of opportunities, with networking events, the Placement Charity Project, and the Placement Business Project.

TUI has a hybrid working structure, with many teams/departments working primarily from home. You should consider whether relocating to Luton (head office) is necessary for whichever department you are looking to enter.
