Overview
Category management role. Day-to-day tasks involve updating KPI dashboards and sending out share notes both internally and externally with the latest data. Competitor analysis and market research are also prevalent, working on projects both on a long term and ad hoc basis.
Skills
Developed my presentation skills as a result of exposure in smaller settings which then progressed to larger scale, higher pressure presentations as my skills progressed. Technically, I've become competent on numerous data platforms, providing training sessions to new starters.
Responsibilities
I was given a good amount of responsibility. Towards the back end of my placement I had autonomy over many tasks and felt more than comfortable approaching my line manager about any areas of work I was interested in delving further into. It was a good balance, with managers also checking work before it was sent externally for example.
Support & Guidance
I had a great network within the CPD Business Development Team. I felt comfortable asking for information, particularly at the beginning of my placement with simple questions; at no point did I feel I was being a burden.
Culture
The culture was hard-working, friendly and creative
