The Role
Very enjoyable experience, everybody in the firm was incredibly friendly and the work was very interesting.
Made to feel welcome in both of the teams I was sat with, people took the time to explain a situation fully and ask your opinion on. Did not feel patronised at all.
Everybody welcomed any questions that I had about the work I was doing or the firm as a whole. HR team make themselves available for any problems or concerns. Supervisors fed back constantly and had useful appraisal in both seats.
Work rate varied, sometimes I was given a lot to do, sometimes it was quieter. However on the whole I was given enough to challenge me without being overloaded.
Obviously hard to give a vacation scheme student too much responsibility but was given work that directly affected clients and was actually used by the team. I was given very little purely theoterical work.
Given good experience in preparing and delivering a presentation and given useful tips throughout.
The Company
Very friendly office, everybody seemed genuinely interested in you and made time to come and chat to you. Open door policy throughout and were happy to answer any questions.
Very well organised, told clearly what events were arranged for us and when. All ran smoothly and well organised socials as well.
Seem interested in personal development as well as professional.
Very appealing, the benefits of a Training Contract with them are clearly laid out and what roles trainees have in the firm is realistically given.
The Culture
A couple of arranged socials, both very enjoyable and relaxed with just trainees. Had the option to go out further with trainees if wanted to.
It's central London...
Central London, very good.
Opportunity to get involved in the firm's Pro Bono activities outside of work.
