    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My role is the Operational and Legal Risk Management, on a day to day basis I review our health and safety policies. I send these policies out to all required people for feedback and then upload these policies onto our documentation system. I also review / update our legal register by carrying out a full evaluation of compliance on each individual piece of legislation. This is in conjunction with administrative activities.

  • I now have a basic understanding of how to use excel. I have improved my legal research skills, my public speaking skills, my confidence has grown significantly and I now have an understanding of how a business is run.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I have been given a lot of responsibility, I often have meeting with our CEO and CFO, some of the time presenting to them. I am trusted to carry out my duties alone and I am trusted to work where I want / need to on the day e.g., home or in one of our two offices.

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I have loads of support and guidance - my manager prioritises my needs and offers help whenever I need it. We also have weekly team calls where we discuss what we have achieved and if we need any help from each other with anything.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company prioritises well being / work life balance. Everyone here is very welcoming and happy to help and I have yet to have a bad experience working here. There are always fun events, challenges and prize draws going ahead.

  • I have really enjoyed my placement, it is a shame they have to end. I have made so many friends, made so many memories, experienced so many things and learn so much.

  • Research the company before having an interview - it is important to know who BSH are and what they do for any job that will be carried out there. You have to want to make an impact and put 100% into the work you are carrying out. The standards of work here are high and by giving 100%, you are getting 100% back.
